Move Over Vitamin C...Here Comes Vitamin D!

Okay, just learned something new a few minutes ago...according to several websites - http://www.mercola.com and http://www.webmd.com just to name a couple, Vitamin D may be more beneficial to fighting off viruses like colds and the flu (even Swine Flu) than Vitamin C. If you think about it, it does make sense. We are getting less Vitamin D from sunshine during the times of year colds and flus are most prevalent. I still need to look into this more, but I've read enough to think I should check into supplementing. Not sure about vitamins in pill form, though I sometimes do take a multi. They seem to be controversial as to whether or not your body uses them effectively. Anyway, something to think about...

  1. Be careful. Vitamin D is a fat souble vitamin and is stored in the liver when not used. Large doses can be toxic.
